David A. Culton joined AAM in September 1998 as an Assistant Manager, Finance at Detroit Manufacturing Complex (DMC). He has served as the Finance Manager at DMC; the Director of Finance Operations; the Director of Commercial Analysis; Executive Director, GM Sales; Controller; and Vice President, Unibody Vehicle Business Unit.  Prior to his current assignment, Culton served as Vice President, Commercial.  He assumed his current position in November 2010.

Culton began his automotive career in 1988 as a College-Graduate-in-Training at Chrysler Corporation where he served in a variety of production, engineering and financial positions including Production Supervisor, Industrial Engineer, Manager – Activity Based Costing and Budget Supervisor.

Culton holds a bachelor of science degree from Northern Michigan University. He holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Detroit.
