Philip R. Guys joined AAM on December 1, 2011 as Vice President, Product Engineering.  Prior to joining AAM, Guys held various senior management positions at Linamar Corporation (Linamar) including Vice President, Engineering, President- McLaren Performance Technologies, and Vice President, Global Manufacturing and Engineering.  Guys assumed his current role with AAM of Vice President, Product Engineering & Development on November 1, 2012.

Guys began his automotive career in 1985 with General Motors.  In 1987, he joined Ford Motor Company (Ford).  In his 20 year career at Ford, he served in various management and engineering positions with increasing responsibility including Chief Engineer- Powertrain Systems Integrations; Global Powertrain GPDS Leader; Chief Engineer- Driveline Systems; and Chief Engineer- Transmission Systems.

Throughout his career, Guys has been focused on the design, development and manufacturing support of driveline and drivetrain products and systems.

Guys received a bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985 and a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in International Business from the University of Michigan in 1992.
