College Opportunities with Team AAM

Cooperative Education and Internship Programs

AAM offers both Cooperative Education and Summer Internship Opportunities. You will have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the automotive industry from our experienced associates. You will also get to apply and grow your skills by performing challenging and meaningful work that truly makes an impact on our business.  

We are looking for candidates who are excited about the automotive manufacturing industry, who excel academically, demonstrate leadership capabilities and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. We offer a challenging and rewarding learning environment designed to provide opportunities for both personal and professional growth.

To be considered for a cooperative education or summer internship, you must be currently enrolled as a full-time student from an accredited college or university in an undergraduate or graduate engineering, technology, business, or management degree program.  You must also be able to present evidence of academic excellence.

College Graduate In Training (CGIT)

AAM’s CGIT program offers a unique opportunity for structured growth and training. As a CGIT, you will be introduced to our environment and be provided an opportunity to receive both classroom and on-the-job experience during a 12-15 month rotational training development program. Upon acceptance into the program, you will be assigned a “home” department and position. You will participate in four to six rotational assignments designed to enhance your knowledge and performance in your target position. The program is available for both Bachelor's and Master's degree level recent graduates as well as our previous co-ops and summer interns.  You will be matched with an executive sponsor during the CGIT program who will provide guidance to you throughout the program.

AAM's CGIT mission is to provide well-trained and prepared associates for key positions and leadership roles.  Upon successful completion of the program, you will be well on your way to a meaningful, fulfilling career with AAM.

You should be a recent college graduate from an accredited college or university in an undergraduate or graduate engineering, technology, business, or management degree program. Evidence of academic excellence must be presented during the selection process as well as demonstrated leadership abilities through previous work or academic experiences.
