AAM Awards Key Suppliers Excellence Awards

American Axle & Manufacturing (NYSE: AXL) presented Supplier Excellence Awards to key supplier partners at the company’s 24th Annual Supplier Day. BEET Analytics Technology, Micron Precision Machining and the Schaeffler Group were honored for their contributions in helping AAM achieve its overall business objectives while providing customers with the latest driveline, metal forming, powertrain and casting innovations.

“Our suppliers are critical to our mission to deliver the best driveline, metal forming, powertrain and casting technologies to our global customers,” said Jake Stiteler, Vice President, Global Procurement for AAM. “BEET, Micron and Schaeffler each play a key role in the success of AAM, while providing world-class quality and delivery, industry leading customer support and overall total enterprise value.”

BEET Technology develops software to analyze factory operations in real time, reducing unplanned machine downtime and achieving a more reliable automation process. BEET has the ability to analyze extremely granular cycle-time information for every motion on a machine, line or plant and in very few clicks give the user the ability to understand underperforming assets. BEET received AAM’s Supplier Excellence Award for innovation and technology leadership.

Micron Precision is a full service, custom machine shop that manufactures precision and prototype parts utilizing a wide range of materials and metals. Able to meet short lead times while keeping costs competitive, Micron received the award for its collaboration, quality and pricing.

The Schaeffler Group delivers high-precision components and systems in engine, transmission, and chassis applications, as well as rolling and plain bearing solutions for automotive, industrial and distribution markets.

Schaeffler received AAM’s award for collaboration, quality and efforts to localize production for future programs.  Schaeffler was also recognized with an AAM Quality Excellence award.

AAM has presented Supplier Excellence Awards to exceptional suppliers each year since 1994. A team of AAM associates from procurement, engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing and materials management selected this year's award winners based on AAM’s rating of its suppliers’ product quality, delivery, and service and technology leadership.
