AAM has more than 22,000 associates operating in nearly 80 facilities around the world.

American Axle & Manufacturing has been named one of Corp! Magazine’s Michigan Economic Bright Spots. The annual ranking celebrates companies that achieved economic growth, expansion and hiring within the state of Michigan.

“Being recognized as an Economic Bright Spot in Michigan, where 18 of our more than 90 global facilities are located, is a testament to AAM’s commitment to quality, operational excellence and technology leadership,” said Chris Son, Executive Director, Marketing and Corporate Communications. “This unwavering dedication has led us to become the premier leader in the design, engineering, validation and manufacturing of driveline, metal forming, powertrain and casting technologies, both in Michigan and around the world.”

AAM joins companies from a wide variety of industries and is one of just a handful of automotive companies on the list. The recognition will be featured in Corp! Magazine and on the publication’s website.

“Corp! Magazine is dedicated to celebrating Michigan businesses that show a passion for not only their businesses, but for improving the economy throughout the State of Michigan.  This year’s Economic Bright Spot winners are a combination of state wide companies who are proud to be headquartered in Michigan and enrich the lives of their employees and communities,” said Jennifer Kluge, Publisher of Corp! Magazine.

The award comes on the heels of AAM being named one of America’s best employers by Forbes in its annual ranking of U.S. mid-size companies. AAM was one of just two suppliers and four automotive companies on the list that names America’s Best Midsize Employers for 2017. The rankings include 301 companies with 1,000 to 5,000 U.S. employees in 25 industries.
