AAM joined several local Detroit organizations to support the East Davison Village Community Group Back to School resource fair. The fair, held shortly before the start of school, provided residents with the opportunity to connect with valuable resource programs and organizations that help local families thrive.

Residents received wellness checkups, homeowner assistance, social service guidance and workforce development at the event. Additionally, each student received a new backpack from AAM, which also included school supplies to help them get ready for the new school year. AAM distributed more than 300 backpacks at the event and at East Davison Elementary-Middle School, where the resource fair was held.

The event was just one of more than three dozen fairs held throughout the City of Detroit, which along with AAM and Global Detroit sponsored the event.

Earlier this year, AAM announced the company was partnering with City of Detroit to help revitalize the Campau/Banglatown area as part of the Strategic Neighborhood Fund (SNF) and Affordable Housing Leverage Fund (AHLF).

The SNF focuses on community-driven projects in four areas including park improvements, streetscape improvements, commercial corridor development and affordable single-family home stabilizations. The AHLF supports the creation and maintenance of affordable housing in neighborhoods throughout the City of Detroit.

Earlier this year, city planners detailed planned improvements to Campau/Banglatown including improved parks, a public splash pad, soccer field, cricket pitch, changes in roadways and residential and commercial development and redevelopment. Read more information about AAM and the SNF/AHLF here.
