American Axle & Manufacturing was the top fundraising team during the recent St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer in Detroit. Team AAM raised more than $43,000 this year and more than $140,000 over the last seven years.

St. Jude Walk/Run events benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and its work to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric diseases through research and treatment. No child is denied treatment based on race, religion or the family’s ability to pay.

More than 120 AAM associates were registered to walk or run in the event, which for the first time was held near AAM’s World Headquarters in downtown Detroit.

AAM has a long legacy and culture of community involvement particularly in Detroit. AAM volunteers and their families donate their resources, talents, time and hearts to support projects that benefit those in need. AAM associates support many great organizations including St. Jude, Boy Scouts, United Way, the Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, Focus: HOPE, Junior Achievement and Gleaners Community Food Bank.

“By walking, running and fundraising for St. Jude, Team AAM is helping to fight childhood cancer,” said Jake Stiteler, Executive Director, Global Procurement “It is just one of the many ways our associates truly embrace the POWER to move our communities and help make the world a better place.”
