DETROIT, May 19, 2025 - Shannon Curry, Vice President & Treasurer at American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. (AAM) (NYSE: AXL), today has been named among 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry by Automotive News. This marks Curry’s second recognition, having first been honored in 2010.

100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry recognizes female executives who are making significant decisions and driving impactful change across the automotive sector. Published every five years since 2000, the 2025 list features top talent from a range of disciplines, including engineering, mobility, manufacturing, marketing, finance, retail and design.

Curry has 30 years of automotive industry experience, including 22 years with AAM. She currently leads AAM’s capital structure and liquidity strategy, with responsibility for cash management, risk, debt, forecasting, shared services, and M&A support. Her role further includes oversight of pension asset management, streamlining treasury operations and strengthening AAM’s banking and lender relationships to support long-term financial stability.

Throughout her tenure, Curry has helped guide AAM’s financial strategy through significant industry challenges, including the global COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain disruptions, labor-related work stoppages and rising interest rates. She leads and facilitates AAM’s enterprise risk management executive team, enhancing awareness and structure around identifying and mitigating key business risks. As a long-time advocate for inclusive leadership, Curry has also mentored several young professionals over the course of her career.

“Over the last 25 years, on six lists of Leading Women, Automotive News has honored 442 executives. This year’s group of Leading Women has 24 presidents and CEOs and nine other C-suite executives; the first group, in 2000, had 14 presidents and CEOs and five others in the C-suite,” said Mary Beth Vander Schaaf, Automotive News senior director of editorial operations. “Our selection committee made many difficult decisions – it gets tougher every time. The talented, powerful executives on this list are at the forefront of thousands of successful women in the auto industry.”

The 2025 class of Automotive News’ 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry emerged from a months-long nomination and judging process that attracted hundreds of entries from the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized within this inspiring and accomplished group of leaders. This award shines a light on the many important positions women hold across our industry and plays a critical role in continuing to attract the next generation of talent,” said Curry.

Curry and other honorees are featured in the May 19 issue of Automotive News and will be recognized at a gala hosted by the publication at The Henry in Dearborn, Michigan.
